TrackPoint vs. Fireflies

Quick answer:

  • Fireflies.ai is a strong AI notetaker for the whole company. It records, transcribes and summarizes meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and more, in over 100 languages, with a free plan.
  • TrackPoint covers only the sales team’s customer calls. It grades each one against your sales scorecard, sends the buyer a recap, and gives reps spoken practice on the objections they handled badly.
  • Use Fireflies to keep every meeting searchable. Use TrackPoint when the goal is better sales calls, not just better notes.

Fireflies and TrackPoint both join your meetings and send a summary when they end. Fireflies is built to capture every conversation across every team, from standups to customer calls. TrackPoint is a Fireflies alternative built for one job: making sales reps better on their next call by scoring this one and having them practice what they missed.

What does Fireflies do well?

Fireflies is built to capture every meeting a company has, and it does that well. It records and transcribes calls on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other web conferencing apps, handles uploaded audio and video, and transcribes in more than 100 languages. The free plan includes unlimited transcription, so anyone can start without a budget conversation.

It’s also good at finding things later. Global search lets you pull up a specific sentence from a meeting months ago, and AskFred, its AI assistant, answers questions about what was said. Teams share moments with soundbites, comments and channels.

The Business plan adds conversation intelligence and team analytics for admins, so a manager can see trends across meetings. And on security, Fireflies lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance, offers HIPAA on Enterprise, and says customer data is never used for AI training.

If you want one notetaker for every department, with every meeting searchable, Fireflies is a solid choice at a price most teams can afford.

Where does Fireflies fall behind?

Fireflies is built for meetings in general, so it doesn’t go deep on sales coaching. Its analytics show patterns across conversations, but nobody turns those patterns into better reps except a manager.

That’s the gap for a sales team. Fireflies can show that a rep talked for 70% of a discovery call. It has no way to make the rep rehearse listening more. And managers rarely have the hours to replay calls themselves: when Salesforce surveyed reps for its December 2022 State of Sales report, about a quarter said they got one-on-one coaching weekly or more.

Here’s how that plays out. Picture a 150-person company where marketing, product, HR and sales all run Fireflies. The sales manager searches the transcripts for a competitor’s name and finds it in 23 calls this quarter. She can read every answer her reps gave. Most of them are shaky, and some reps just changed the subject. The search took two minutes. Getting eight reps to answer that competitor well is a different job, and nothing in the meeting library helps with it.

What is TrackPoint?

TrackPoint only sits in on customer calls, and everything it does with them is aimed at the next sale. It scores each call against your sales scorecard, emails the recap, turns shaky moments into practice, and keeps a running view of which reps are improving.

TrackPoint call analytics: talk-to-listen ratio, longest monologue and turn lengths for a scored sales call

Take that same competitor. In TrackPoint, the calls where reps stumbled on it score low on objection handling, and the manager doesn’t have to search for them. She sees the pattern in the team view, and the reps get a roleplay with an AI buyer who says, “We’re also looking at your competitor, and they’re cheaper,” then keeps pushing if the answer is vague. Each rep has a passing score to hit by Friday. The next time that name comes up live, they’ve already said their answer out loud five or six times.

None of it required her to replay a single transcript.

If you already have a battle card for that competitor, upload it and TrackPoint turns it into a roleplay you can check and assign within the hour. The TrackPoint Calls overview walks through recording, scoring and practice end to end.

How is TrackPoint different from Fireflies for sales teams?

Fireflies is built to remember every meeting. TrackPoint is built to improve every sales call.

Scored against a sales scorecard. TrackPoint scores every recorded call for every rep on what they said, like discovery and objection handling, and how they said it, like pace, filler words and tone. It’s the same scorecard every time, so a manager can compare reps fairly.

Recaps for the buyer, not just the team. Fireflies keeps the notes inside your workspace. TrackPoint also sends the summary and next steps to the buyer and everyone else on the invite. When a rep wants to write something more personal, Copy for AI hands ChatGPT or Claude the whole call, scores included.

Practice built from the call itself. In Fireflies, a weak moment becomes a soundbite someone might watch. In TrackPoint, it becomes an AI roleplay with a buyer who raises the same objection, assigned to the rep with a passing score.

Buyers who hold back like real ones. A real buyer rarely volunteers that they’re talking to a competitor. TrackPoint’s AI buyers behave the same way: with Semantic Reasoning, details like other vendors and budget only come out when the rep asks well. See for yourself in a free roleplay.

Coaching without the listening. Managers check the team view, spot the pattern and let the assigned practice do the repetition. Our guide on how to coach sales reps without listening to every call shows the 15-minute weekly routine.

What does Fireflies cost?

Fireflies publishes its prices. On its pricing page in October 2026, billed annually:

  • Free: unlimited transcription, limited AI summaries and 400 minutes of storage per team.
  • Pro: $10 per seat per month, with unlimited summaries and 8,000 minutes of storage per seat.
  • Business: $19 per seat per month, adding conversation intelligence, team analytics for admins and unlimited storage.
  • Enterprise: $39 per seat per month, annual only, adding SSO, HIPAA, custom data retention and a dedicated account manager.

You’ll find TrackPoint’s plans on our pricing page. Since it only covers the sales team, you’d pay for the reps who need coaching rather than every seat in the company, and the demo roleplay is free to try first.

Can TrackPoint replace Fireflies?

For the sales team’s customer calls, yes. Reps would get their notes, scores, recaps and practice from TrackPoint instead.

Most companies keep both. Sales reps link their Google or Outlook calendars to TrackPoint, which then attends their external meetings on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, while everyone else keeps using Fireflies. Reps can turn TrackPoint off for any meeting and upload older calls to see how they score.

If the rest of the company relies on Fireflies for internal meetings, many-language transcription or company-wide search, keep it for those. TrackPoint is built for the reps who sell.

Which should you pick?

The deciding question is who the tool is for: the whole company, or the people who sell.

Pick Fireflies if…

  • You want one notetaker for every department and every kind of meeting.
  • You need transcription in many languages or a free plan for occasional use.
  • Your main goal is a searchable record of what was said.

Pick TrackPoint if…

  • You lead a sales team of 3 to 100 reps and want every customer call scored.
  • You keep finding the same objection in transcripts and want reps drilled on it, not just aware of it.
  • You want reps to rehearse a big meeting before it happens, with a buyer researched from that company.
  • You want sales coaching and call notes in one tool.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Fireflies alternative for sales teams?

For a sales team that wants coaching on top of transcripts, TrackPoint is the closest fit. It focuses on customer calls, grades them against a sales scorecard, and has reps rehearse the moments they got wrong until they hit a passing score. If you’re still comparing, our best AI notetakers for sales list covers eight options.

How much does Fireflies cost?

Fireflies has a free plan. Billed annually, Pro is $10 per seat per month, Business is $19 and Enterprise is $39. Conversation intelligence and team analytics start on Business. TrackPoint’s pricing is on our pricing page.

Is Fireflies good for sales calls?

Fireflies is good at recording, transcribing and summarizing sales calls, and its Business plan adds conversation intelligence. It isn’t built specifically for sales coaching, and it doesn’t offer practice, so reps still need a manager or a tool like TrackPoint to work on what the calls show.

Does Fireflies have AI roleplay?

No. Fireflies is a meeting notetaker and doesn’t offer AI roleplay practice. TrackPoint builds AI roleplays from weak moments on your scored calls automatically, and lets reps practice upcoming meetings.

Fireflies vs TrackPoint: what’s the difference?

Fireflies is an AI notetaker for every meeting across a company. TrackPoint is an AI sales training platform for sales teams: it records and scores customer calls, sends the recap, and trains reps with AI roleplays, assigned practice and a manager team view.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Gong than Fireflies?

Fireflies is one of the cheapest ways to record and analyze calls, but it’s a notetaker, not a coaching platform. If you want Gong-style call review plus coaching for a small team, see our list of Gong alternatives.

Can sales use TrackPoint while the rest of the company keeps Fireflies?

Yes. TrackPoint only joins the meetings of reps who connect their Google or Outlook calendar, and only external ones on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Each rep can turn it off per meeting, and recordings can be uploaded too.

Does TrackPoint use our calls to train AI models?

No. TrackPoint never uses customer data, including recordings and transcripts, to train its own or anyone else’s AI models, and you choose whether your data lives in the United States, Canada or Europe. See our security page.

So, Fireflies or TrackPoint?

Keep Fireflies as the company’s memory of every meeting. Add TrackPoint for the team whose calls bring in revenue, so the objections you find in transcripts turn into answers reps have practiced.
