Scaling Through the Saskatchewan Ecosystem
The Saskatchewan tech ecosystem has assisted with our growth:
- Usask Opus: An impromptu introduction and visit to University of Saskatchewan’s Opus, a deep tech incubator led to joining their Impact2Market (i2Market) accelerator and provided the mentorship and support needed to scale.
- The MIST Program: Through the Made in Saskatchewan Technology (MIST) program, we successfully piloted our platform with organizations like the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association (SIA), Carlton Trail College, and University of Regina.
- Award-Winning Momentum: In our 2nd month of business, we won the People’s Choice Award at Co.Launch, a pitch competition hosted by the Co.Labs startup accelerator.
Real-World Impact: Piloting with Purpose
One of our core leadership principles at TrackPoint is to Empower People to Grow. The MIST program allowed us to do exactly that by reducing the adoption barriers for non-profits and educational institutions.
During our pilots with SIA and University of Regina, we received valuable user feedback that directly shaped our product. For example, we built presentation preparation functionality specifically to serve the needs of university students, which then enabled us to serve business professionals.
As Jay noted in the article, “MIST helps us make a better platform that people want to use. It also benefits the organizations we’re working with because we’re able to customize each pilot project to their needs”.
Fostering the Local Tech Community
Innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Recognizing the power of the community that helped us launch, TrackPoint is dedicated to paying it forward.
We are proud to host Tech Social, a monthly meetup sponsored by Innovation Saskatchewan at our office. This event brings together Saskatoon’s developers, engineers, and tech enthusiasts to share ideas, build connections, and spark the next wave of prairie innovation.
Looking Ahead
As artificial intelligence becomes a daily fixture in the corporate world, our goal remains unchanged: to use technology to strengthen, not replace, the human element. By giving professionals a private space to practice for meetings and presentations, we are making in-person connections stronger.
